Native Groups and Early Spanish Explorers

These credentials document competencies including overall knowledge of the Texas history including major events, people, and factors in its historical development. Though many of these positions require appropriate education at various levels and numerous types of training, a fundamental understanding of Texas history supports many aspects of the daily task and strategic decision-making. Specifically, this badge demonstrates the earner's ability to describe the native peoples and early Spanish explorers and settlers through 1763 in terms of where they lived in Texas, important aspects of their culture, their challenges, and their role in Texas history.
