The NWCA Advisory Board provides guidance, advice, and serves as an ally in the quest to carry out NWCA’s mission and vision.
PURPOSE
The NWCA Advisory Board provides a formal mechanism to obtain policy advice from selected groups of individuals with particular expertise, interests, or backgrounds.
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS
NWCA Advisory Board members offer their expertise and guidance in organizational matters, exam development, institutional consulting and educational standards. NWCA values their guidance, advice, and service as trusted partners working to help realize NWCA’s mission and vision.
LYNN SCHROEDER
As Vice President of Client Relations, Lynn leads the corporate-facing sales, account management and delivery activities of the organization. Lynn first joined CAEL in 1997 and has held a number of varied positions within the organization. From 2009 – 2013, Lynn transitioned to serve as Vice President for Sales and Marketing at EdLink, LLC, a tuition management company jointly owned by CAEL and ACT, Inc. When EdLink was sold successfully by CAEL in 2013, Lynn returned to CAEL as VP of Client Relations, where she focuses on strategic growth and customer satisfaction for CAEL’s corporate clients. Lynn has more than 30 years of business leadership experience in sales and marketing, management and program delivery, client relations, communications, editing and publishing. Lynn earned her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz and, like many adult learners, had attended multiple intensive training programs and graduate courses as she traveled across the country to pursue her career.
JOY JOSEPH
Joy has extensive experience within the Financial Services Business which spans across several disciplines. During her career, she has held several roles in the industry including as a Financial Advisor, Sales Management, Compliance & Risk Management, and Professional Development. She has several years of experience heading up learning at a global level, within the corporate University setting, and has led large scale, cross divisional, and global educational programs supporting the financial services business. Until recently, Joy held the role of as the Head of Culture, Engagement, and Employer Branding and the Chief Diversity Officer for Axa Equitable.
CORRINE CALICE
Corrine has over 25 years of experience in leadership, management and teaching in higher education, government, and the association space. In the past several years she has managed multi-million dollar online degree and certificate programs as well as professional development programs for the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the American Health Information Management Association and the University of Illinois at Chicago. At IFT, Corrine oversees all educational programming, volunteer content creation through special interest groups, the Certified Food Scientist certification and the Higher Education Review Board which provides program review and approval to undergraduate degree programs in food science globally. Corrine co-authored a 2015 study on the impact of instructional design principles on students’ learning experience entitled "A Longitudinal Study of Nursing Students’ Perceptions of Quality Online Course Design" published in the Journal of Interactive Learning Research, as well as a multi-media essay, “On Being an Early Adopter” published in Computers and Composition Online Special Issue. Corrine earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Digital Media from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
KUNTAL McELROY
Kuntal is a performance-driven executive offering extensive cross-industry experience. She most recently founded AxiomVantage LLC through which she provides project based consulting/program management supporting strategv planning & execution, business & learning transformation, change managements, and university relations. Prior to that, she was Head of Learning for Ericcson North America, leading a team of performance consultants to develop a proactive, strategic, effective and efficient Learning & Development practice. A teacher and a coach at heart and in practice, she has also held senior roles at Citigroup, Solomon Smith Barney, ABN Amro Inc., and PwC. She also spent a significant time in academia teaching both at the public school and university levels. Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Kuntal moved to the United States for further studies and holds a PhD in Mathematics from Lehigh University.
TERRY TAYLOR, PhD
Terry Taylor is an instructional designer and educational consultant who escaped the world of higher education administration and paper grading to the world of consulting for interesting clients and on challenging and worthwhile projects. Her consulting work focuses on assisting clients in strategy, development, production, and assessment in their educational products and services. Previously, she served as dean of students, director of curriculum, department chair, and classroom instructor in a variety of educational institution types and for both on-ground and online course formats. Dr. Taylor has spoken nationally on curriculum, accreditation, student retention, and faculty development challenges and solutions and has published several textbooks on topics including student success, information literacy, customer service, faculty success and teaching, and the job search. Dr. Taylor earned a PhD at Colorado State University in Food Science and Human Nutrition, a Master of Science Degree in Sports Medicine at the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Texas at Dallas.
DOUG HARWARD
As a seasoned veteran of the training industry, Doug Harward, CEO and founder of Training Industry, Inc., is a valuable resource in helping learning professionals more effectively manage the business of learning. He’s also the co-author of What Makes a Great Training Organization: A Handbook of Best Practices and a leading authority on competitive analysis for training services and works with international companies and new business start-ups in building training organizations. Doug received a MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BSBA in Marketing from Appalachian State University.
JONATHAN SPRAGUE
Jon is a senior learning leader with a passion for developing and implementing organizational strategic plans and change management. With deep expertise in instructional design, assessment, learning strategy, and training and development, Jon lends broad experience in higher education, associations, and corporate learning to the NWCA mission. Jon holds a Masters of Science in Biology from Purdue University and a BS in Biology from MacMurray College.
