The Constitutional Law credential documents competencies including knowledge of the U.S. Constitution’s creation of facilities and structures for the separation of powers, allocation of powers between federal and state government, judicial review, congressional authority, presidential and agency powers, and protections of individual rights. Though many of these positions require appropriate education at various levels and additional training, a fundamental understanding of constitutional law provides a foundation that supports many aspects of daily tasks and decision-making. Specifically, this badge demonstrates the earner's ability to describe the evolution of constitutional and statutory sources for equal protection, including key interpretations and their applications related to race, gender, sexual orientation, and other personal characteristics.
